I would like to say a few words for Mike Coffman in response to a letter recommending one of his competitors for the 6th Congressional District (“Armstrong for 6th CD,” July 6).
I have known Mike since 1994 when I became a precinct leader in Arapahoe County. He has represented and served Arapahoe County and the state of Colorado well for almost two decades. That doesn’t count his service to the country, with two tours in Iraq as an officer in the military. Mike has always been responsive to the needs and principles that constitute the Arapahoe/Douglas County electorate and small-business owners, with his conservative approach to smaller government.
It is for the above reasons - and many more - that I truly believe Mike Coffman would be the right and best person to replace the retiring Tom Tancredo for Congress.

Rarely have I met a more principled, honest or dedicated public servant than Mike Coffman. He has served with honor and integrity for our country and the State of Colorado. His business and legislative experience make him by far the best choice out of all of our fine candidares for this office.

When you met Coffman in 1994, did he come to your table and introduce himself? Then every time after that, did he introduce himself to you in the same manner?
I've "known" him for a long time too. Here is how my conversations go every single time:
"Hi, I'm Mike Coffman."
"Hey, it's me Paul, we met (insert last introduction)."
"Oh yeah, I remember, good to see you again…Hi, I'm Mike Coffman…"
